DC Comics, in relaunching their entire line, made it very clear that series lagging in sales would not be kept around for sake of nostalgia or in attempts to 'jolt life' into the book to keep it moving forward. We've recently received word that six series, some critically acclaimed, will be ending with April's issue 8. The cancelled series are as follows:
- Hawk and Dove
- Static Shock
- Blackhawks
- Men of War
- O.M.A.C.
- Mister Terrific
However, as is the case with all industry, the chaff must be cleared in order to make way for the new. Not to disappoint, DC immediately announced the debut of six new #1's in May!
- Dial H
- Earth 2
- Worlds' Finest
- Batman Incorporated
- GI Combat
- The Ravagers
This is certainly an exciting time to be a comics fan. While we'll definitely miss great books like Blackhawks, Men of War, and Mister Terrific, we can't help but be excited for things like Earth 2, Worlds' Finest, and Dial H.
Here's some preview art for Dial H - looks great!
